On May 2, 2025, our PPR-funded project team hosted a dynamic panel discussion exploring how collaborative networks can strengthen STEAM education across Hong Kong schools. Moderated by Dr. Shihui Feng (HKU), the session brought together principals, STEAM coordinators, and association leaders to share actionable strategies for building resilient, cross-sector partnerships.
The panel addressed critical questions facing educators today:
1️⃣ Impactful Collaborations
Panelists revealed transformative partnerships - from university-led maker labs to NGO-sponsored community projects - that bridged classroom learning with real-world problem-solving.
2️⃣ Network-Building Strategies
Experts emphasized both top-down (policy-aligned) and bottom-up (teacher-driven) approaches, with case studies on leveraging external and internal resources for sustained collaboration.
3️⃣ AI in STEAM Education
The discussion balanced AI's potential for personalized learning with cautions about maintaining human-centric pedagogy.
4️⃣ System-Level Recommendations
Panelists proposed policy innovations to promote resource exchange to establish a resilient STEAM Ecosystem.
